Siemens Gamesa Closes The Sale Of A Wind Portfolio In Southern Europe

Siemens Gamesa closes the sale of renewable development assets in southern Europe to the British SSE for 613 million euros . It is a portfolio of onshore wind projects located in Spain, France, Greece and Italy , with different stages of maturity and a combined capacity of 3.8 GW.
Specifically, 580 million of the sale correspond to the purchase price and 33 million to working capital and net debt adjustments estimated as of June 30, 2022). The aforementioned adjustments are subject to the regular review of the post-closing financial statements.
The agreement contemplates the possibility of developing up to 1.4 GW of hybridization projects , in addition to the integration into SSE of approximately 50 people from the current Siemens Gamesa team. BofA Securities, CMS Albiñana & Suárez de Lezo and Deloitte have been the advisers of the operation.
Of course, the Spanish manufacturer of wind turbines will be able to supply turbines and offer long-term maintenance services for some of the wind farms installed and operated by SSE in the coming years from this sale.
