Spain Is The Third Country In EU With The Most Sports-Related Jobs

Spain is the third country in the EU with the most sports-related jobs. The EU country with the lowest percentage is Romania with 0.2%.
The European Statistical Office, known as Eurostat, has carried out a study that reveals that Spain is the third country where sport accounts for a higher percentage of the rest of the labor market, 1.1% . It shares the third step of the podium with France, and ahead of them is Finland with 1.3% and Sweden with 1.4%.
Eurostat data shows that 1.37 million EU citizens are engaged in the sports sector, 0.7% of total employment. The sports guild has managed to return to pre-pandemic figures, in 2019 they also had 1.37 million, after falling in 2020 to 1.31 million.
The survey indicates that it is a slightly more masculinized sector than the average, 55% men and 45% women – general average 54% compared to 46%. Another of the data that it shows is the large rate of young population – from 15 to 29 years old – which represents about a third of the employees in the sector, 32%. The adult population represents 65%, 15 percentage points less than the total percentage of employment.
